Journal 1
During my first yoga session, I immediately noticed the tone of my instructors voice. She spoke in a calm, friendly, and assuring tone as she gave instructions. It was her voice that initially set the ambiance for me. The structure of the class was beginner friendly. The instructor guided us through every position and kept reminding us to breathe. Pranayama was the instructors focus of this class; she wanted us to connect with our breath in order to execute the positions that were novel to our bodies. She encouraged us to keep our backs straight and legs locked through certain positions while also letting the energy of the burn we felt, transfer outward through our fingertips and toes. This was helpful to me, as I felt more in control of the sensation I was feeling. I enjoyed the way my mind and body was put as ease by the breathing techniques. Now I am excited to become more skilled at asana and also learn how to meditate like a professional.
Ok...this is a good start. Can you designate what class you took and describe it a bit more in this post? Always start with a brief description of the class and how it was delivered (live/zooom/facebook live/etc)
ReplyDeleteGot it. For my first class, I searched for prerecorded yoga classes for beginners on the internet. The video I choose to guide me through my practice was instructed by a young woman named Adrian via her youtube account.
